Learner Licence
The Class 5 Learner Licence is a computer based theory test. We provide full training for this licence.
Duration: We encourage learners to allow approximately 1 week for a blend of tuition (if required) and self-directed study to best prepare for the Class 5 Learner Licence test.
How do I gain the licence? A 1 hour online test that you sit at an approved testing facility.
Prerequisites:
- You must have held a Class 4 licence for at least 6 months (or 3 months if you are over 25).
- You must obtain a medical certificate unless you have lodged one with NZTA in the previous 5 years.
You have two options with the Class 5 Full Licence.
Standard Duration
You can hold your Learners Licence for 6 months and do a lesson based training programme to pass the test with a testing officer, or:

You can do a Unit Standard based short course, which includes practical training and assessment by McInnes Driver Training to fast track your licence
